The brutal gang rape of Jyoti Singh (Nirbhaya) on 16 December 2012 gave a hard knock to the collective conscience of India. The crime moved the entire nation to demand action from the lawmakers and the law keepers of the country.
Even after the conviction of the perpetrators, Nirbhaya’s parents still have to fight for justice. As of today, rape is the fastest growing crime amongst juvenile offenders in India. In the last decade, juvenile arrests for rape went up by 288%.
To address this issue and spread awareness, Population Foundation Of India (PFI) released a short film called Nirbhaya – The Film on 2nd October 2017, that is, The Day Of Non-Violence. Being the third film of the ongoing campaign #BasAbBahutHoGaya, this film focused on the brutal Nirbhaya case and how the whole nation came together to fight the long battle of bringing justice to her family.
We provided PFI with digital support for the film and following are the results we got to!
PFI is one of those organizations that go the distance to support social causes and bring about changes. We hope to continue to support this organization digitally and spread the awareness that the country needs to take development to the next level.
